Photographic portraits of the natural landscape

by Mark Appleton

The peaks and glens of Torridon, Beinn Eighe, Liathach, Slioch and the mighty An Teallach in Wester Ross are Mark’s spiritual home. On a typical photographic expedition he’ll rise very early – 2am in the summer – to get into the mountains to catch the light at its best.

The natural landscape of the Highlands and Islands are like no other; rugged, remote with the most amazing light. The beauty of the mountains is that they are always changing. ‘You can go out to the same location ten times and it will be totally different each time".
